Frequently Asked Guest Questions

What exactly does a shared pool mean?
The pool is shared by guests staying in the two gites, and for 4 weeks in the summer, also by the guests in the Farmhouse. Experience has shown that while all our guests enjoy using the pool, there are so many local attractions and places to visit, it is very rare for everyone to be at the pool at the same time. However, the pool is 10 x 5 meters, so there is always plenty of room.
Is there parking spaces for guests?
Guests can pull up in front of the gites to unload, then park in our off-road parking area which can accommodate up to 6 cars.
Do you offer Limoges Airport pick ups?
Hiring a car at Limoges offers guests the flexibility of being able to go off sightseeing when they like. It is very easy to book – and there are several companies based on site. It would be quite limiting being in our village with no transport, so we would always recommend that guests have their own transport so as to make the most of the area during their stay.
Do you charge a security deposit?
Unlike most gites businesses, we do not charge a security deposit. We would however expect guests to report any damage and replace broken items, so as to make the gite as comfortable as possible for the following guests.

In the same manner, we do not charge a cleaning fee, and from our experience to date, all our guests respect this policy and leave the gite clean and tidy.

Do you offer flexible check-in / check-out days?
We only take bookings on a Saturday to Saturday basis during the Peak summer months (July & August). Outside of these months however, we do offer flexible dates, so please contact us to check availability.
Where is the nearest supermarket to buy food?
Our nearest supermarket is in our nearest town, Piegut Pluviers, which is 4 miles away – about 10 minute drive, or a 30 minute cycle ride. There is also a supermarket at Saint Mathieu, which is another village about 6 miles away. The larger town of Nontron is 10 miles away, and has an Intermarche, Super U, and a Lidl.
Where can we hire bikes for use during our stay?
We have a selection of bikes for our guests to use free of charge – 4 adult bikes and 2 smaller ones for children.
Is there a washing machine available to use during our stay?
There is a washing machine in the farmhouse, and one in the undercroft for guests in both the gites to use.
Are towels and linen provided?
All bed linen and bath towels are provided, but guests need to bring their own towels for the pool and the lake beaches.
Do you provide a linen change mid-stay?
A linen change after one week is available for guests who have booked a 2 week stay or longer.
Are the Farmhouse and gites heated?
No heating is needed in the Summer months, however all properties have central heating and stoves which can be used if required in the off seasons. An initial supply of wood is provided for the stoves in the Farmhouse and L’Herminette, Le Brulot has a gas fired stove, in the style of a wood burner. A small charge would be made depending on usage, for additional wood and gas, as well as for the central heating oil.
Are you equipped for young babies?
We can provide a travel cot, high chair, baby bath and push chair if required.
Can we bring our well behaved pets?
Unfortunately, our property is not suitable for pets
